Mental Health For Children
Share
Mental health is just as important in children as it is in adults. Mentally healthy children can be the difference in reaching developmental and emotional milestones and failing to reach them. Though children may not have the same stressors as adults, it does not discount the fact they have day to day challenges. School, friends, fitting in, peer pressure, grades, and puberty are just a few challenges they may face. Creating an environment that promotes open communication, the importance of feelings, and healthy outlets can help children learn healthy cosial skills and how to cope when they are facing a problem.
Mental health is not equal to the absence of a mental disorder. For more information on mental health, check out https://www.cdc.gov/mentalhealth/children/index.htm
